Stingrays Headed Back To Playoffs

The South Carolina Stingrays are back in the Kelly Cup playoffs as they look to defend their Eastern Conference Championship. Last season, the Stingrays fell one win short of winning the Kelly Cup. This season the Rays look to get that win.

The Rays currently sit 4 points behind the Toledo Walleye for first place in the conference with a game in hand and 6 games left. One Capitals prospect to watch is goaltender Vitek Vanecek. Vanecek was the Caps second round pick, number 39 overall in 2014. Vanecek currently sits second in the ECHL in GAA with an 2.00 with a save percentage of .919 to go with a 16-7-4-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) and three shutouts.

Vanecek will be a key factor for success down the road and into the playoffs for the Stingrays as they look to win their fourth Kelly Cup and their first since 2009.
