Caps announce 2016-2017 Schedule

The Washington Capitals along with the NHL have released their schedules. The Capitals will have a break after facing the Devils in New Jersey on January 21 before returning to action on January 31, in Brooklyn against the Islanders. This is the break for the ASG.

The Capitals will have their NHL mandated break from February 11-18 from the World Cup. The Capitals will end the year playing 6 games in 10 days going from Arizona to Columbus to Toronto, before returning home to face the Rangers. Then the Caps head to Boston before closing out the season in DC against the Panthers. The Caps will have 11 matinee games this year.

Unlike in years past, the Caps will not face a rival on Super Bowl Sunday but will instead host the LA Kings. This is just one of the games in their “holiday schedule” that includes the defending Western Conference Champions  on Election Day, facing the Blues and Sabres before and after thanksgiving, they will face only the Devils at home during Hanukkah on December 27, and will host the Senators on New Years Day.

The Capitals will have their west coast road trips from October 26- November 1 (North Western Canada and Winnipeg) and from March 9- March 12 (California).
