Stingrays Add Two Young Defensemen

via RMU Hockey

The Stingrays have singed defenders Evan Moore (above) and Alex Pompeo. Evan spent his college days playing at Robert Morris where he played in 152 games registering 31 points. As an alternate captain, he helped lead Robert Morris to two straight conference championships from 2014-2016. While playing for Robert Morris, Evan was able to stay focused on his grades and was named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team. Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky believes the 24 year old from Grosse Pointe, Michigan will bring “some younger energy” to the Stingrays.

Alex Pompeo (below) registered 75 points in 103 games while in college. The 23 year old from Hingham, Massachusetts was a member of the All-ECAC Northeast First Team while he played at Salve Regina. Warsofsky says he will be a defenseman who can “help us break pucks out and move up the ice”.
